Nahid Tabatabai
Research Associate, Dartmouth College
Dr. Nahid Tabatabai is a Research Associate in Economics at Dartmouth College, where she has worked since August 1998. Dr. Tabatabai received her Ph.D. in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts in 1991. For ten years she was the staff person responsible for the labor and pension sections of the Health and Retirement Study. The HRS is an NIA funded panel study with over 22,000 participants, representing all persons over 50 years of age in the United States, permitting longitudinal analysis over all interview years. It is funded through a cooperative agreement with the University of Michigan, with a subcontract to Dartmouth supporting work on the labor and pension sections. Together with Alan Gustman and Thomas Steinmeier, Dr. Tabatabai has published articles on pensions and other assets held by the retirement age population. Together with Gustman and Steinmeier, she has a newly published book from Harvard University Press entitled
