Dr. Richard Hirth is a Professor of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Carleton College, and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a health economist whose research interests include health insurance benefit design, healthcare costs, the economics of end-stage renal disease care, long-term care, and the role of not-for-profit providers in healthcare markets.
