Erik Hurst is the V. Duane Rath Professor of Economics, Deputy Director of the Becker Institute, and Friedman John E. Jeuck Faculty Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Professor Hurst’s research focuses on understanding household financial behavior including bankruptcy, savings, home ownership, leisure time, consumption patterns, and entrepreneurship. His work has been published in top economic journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
