Ann Huff Stevens (Ph., University of Michigan, 1995) is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Davis.  Her past research on retirement and aging includes studies of the responsiveness of retirement expectations to pension plans and Social Security, the effects of worker knowledge about pensions on retirement timing, and the effects of job loss on older workers’ employment, earnings and wealth.  In addition, Stevens has studied the intergenerational transmission of income and eduction, job stability and security, and poverty in the U.S.  Her current work includes research on the consequences of increased earnings inequality on retirement wealth, and on the extent and effects of individual pension knowledge using longitudinal self-reports and administrative data.
