Continued Development and Public Dissemination of RAND HRS Data

This project aims to further develop and publicly disseminate the RAND HRS dataset, a user-friendly version of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) data. We propose to update the data file with final releases and less-preliminary releases of HRS waves as they become available; expand the subset of variables on the file in response to requests from users; update and improve user documentation; actively promote the data; and provide responsive technical support to (prospective) users. These user-friendly data files will greatly facilitate and improve the quality of Social Security research.
