F. Thomas Juster

Dr. Juster died in 2010. In his long and distinguished career, Dr. Tom Juster served in multiple roles, including as Acting Director of the MRRC through April 2002. Dr. Juster also served as Chair of the National Academy of Sciences Panel on New Data for an Aging World, as a member of the Census Advisory Committee of Professional Associations, of the Conference on Research in Income and Wealth, and of the Committee on National Statistics of the National Academy of Sciences, and as Chairman of the Committee on the Quality of Economic Statistics of the American Economic Association.

Among numerous other prominent positions, Dr. Juster served as a Senior Advisor to the Brooking Panel on Economic Activity from 1970 to 1990, as the Director for the Institute for Social Research from 1976 to 1986, as the founding Principle Investigator of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) and of the Asset and Health Dynamics of the Oldest Old Study (AHEAD). Dr. Juster was a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and of the National Association of Business Economists.
