Abstract

This project will partner with persons with psychiatric disabilities (PwPD) who have low incomes and who are members of minority racial/ethnic groups to investigate barriers to accessing Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) team, which includes PwPD, will conduct focus groups (including 18 to 24 people) and individual surveys (with approximately 50 to 60 people) with this population to gather information about barriers to, facilitators of, and impact of SSI (on economic security).  The results are expected to provide actionable recommendations to community-level providers and SSA
