Richard Burkhauser
Emeritus Sarah Gibson Blanding Professor of Policy Analysis, Cornell University
Richard Burkhauser is Emeritus Sarah Gibson Blanding Professor of Policy Analysis in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management, Cornell University. He is also professorial research fellow at the University of Melbourne in Australia, and spends part of the academic year at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. His professional career has focused on how public policies affect the economic behavior and well-being of vulnerable populations, e.g., older persons, people with disabilities, low-skilled workers. He has published widely on these topics in journals of demography, economics, gerontology, as well as public policy. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
