David Card

Professor of Economics, University of California-Berkeley

David Card (Ph.D., Economics, Princeton University) is Class of 1950 Professor of Economics at UC Berkeley, Director of the Center for Labor Economics at Berkeley, and Director of the NBER Labor Studies Program. His research interests include immigration, wage determination, the impacts of social programs, and the economics of health and retirement. He has served as co-editor of Econometrica and the American Economic Review. He is a fellow the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Econometric Society, and the Society of Labor Economics. He was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal by the American Economic Association in 1995, the IZA Prize in Labor Economics in 2006, and the Econometric Society’s Frisch Medal in 2007.
